![]() Allison I. Ruff, MSGPrincipal Consultant Allison Ruff received her Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Washington University in 1998. In 2001, Ms. Ruff earned her Master's degree in Gerontology from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in policy, administration, and program evaluation. Upon graduation, she returned to Washington State to work as a Planning and Development Specialist for Aging and Disability Services, the Area Agency on Aging serving Seattle and King County. Her duties included legislative and policy analysis, grant writing, and program development for housing, long-term care, caregiving, and disease prevention programs. In 2003, Ms. Ruff moved once again to California and accepted a position as the Planner for the Area 4 Agency on Aging serving Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba Counties. As the Planner, she developed the seven-county needs assessment and Area Plan, and provided legislative analysis and advocacy coordination for the organization and community members. In May of 2004, Ms. Ruff became the Principal Consultant for the Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care chaired by Assemblywoman Patty Berg. Her scope of work includes the development and staffing of legislation for Assemblymember Berg regarding aging and long-term care issues, bill analysis and tracking for the Committee, the development of the Master Plan on Aging, and health and human services budget issues. In addition, Ms. Ruff serves as a resource for legislature, advocacy organizations, and community members on aging and long-term care issues. Ms. Ruff is an advisor for numerous projects, including the California Elder Economic Security Initiative and the A4AA Aging Boomer Study, and a member of the Health and Human Services Agency Community Choices Advisory Committee. |
