Caroline CiceroCaroline Cicero received the David A. Peterson Student Achievement Award for her efforts on behalf of CCGG 's Membership and Marketing Committee and for helping create CCGG's Student Ambassador Program. She is a doctoral student in the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology and a Research Assistant in the Fall Prevention Center of Excellence. Ms. Cicero holds masters degrees in Urban Planning and in Social Work, and she worked previously as a geriatric case manager, non-profit housing developer, and urban planner. Ms. Cicero specializes in public policies that affect the provision of community services for older adults. In addition to promoting programming which helps older people to age in place, she is working with cities to assist them in meeting the housing, transportation, and environmental design needs of their aging populations. Most recently, she has been helping to make the problem of falls a public health priority in California by helping coordinate the State's first annual Fall Prevention Awareness Week. Ms. Cicero also serves on the Social Research, Policy and Practice (SRPP) Division of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) as a representative of the Emerging Scholars and Professional Organization (ESPO). |
