CCGG has a new membership structure for 2022! Please join us now!

Dear Friends,

At the beginning of this new year, the California Council on Gerontology and Geriatrics is excited to announce our new membership structure. We hope the revised membership fees help both current and prospective CCGG members engage in a number of network opportunities we are bringing to you this year.  The annual membership is valid on a calendar year basis (January 1 – December 31).  (As a thank you to those of you that joined in 2021 under the previous membership structure, we will provide a free 2022 membership to you!).

Renew or start your membership by signing up through our website (https://ccgg.org/join-ccgg/).  Please share this news with your friends and colleagues, too!  You can find more information about upcoming events on our website (ccgg.org), Facebook and Instagram.

We hope to see you soon!

For any questions or suggestions related to CCGG membership, please send your message to CCGG Vice President Emiko Takagi (etakagi@sfsu.edu).

Share Your Expertise & Insights!     For Senior Living operators, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the way they provide care and services to residents and their families, as well as the manner in which they lead their teams and conduct business and daily operations. Through it all, their commitment to the safety and well-being of everyone involved, while supporting the highest quality of life possible for residents has remained steady and strong.

As CALA looks to build educational programs in 2022 that provide helpful insights, best practices and lessons learned – with an eye toward navigating the present while holding a vision for the future – we invite you to consider submitting a proposal. Whether you’re from within or outside the profession, the possibilities for learning transfer and engagement are endless: from wellness to technology, resident and dementia care, leadership development, marketing, legal and regulatory considerations, business practices and more.

If you’re interested in sharing your expertise and insights by presenting an engaging, interactive learning session with practical, ready-to-use take-aways, please take a moment to explore the Submission Guidelines and consider how spending a little time with us is a win-win proposition. Submit a proposal today!

Fall 2021 Showcase

Showcase Overview

The California Council on Gerontology and Geriatrics (CCGG) will be hosting a Fall Showcase that gives an opportunity for students, faculty, and the greater community to share their work and research with the larger CCGG community. The spring and fall showcases provide a wonderful forum to connect and learn about the work that our colleagues are doing. It is also great for presenters to be able to share their information with a smaller, highly engaged audience.

December 2  from 9:00-11:00am and will be held via Zoom video conferencing.  Please mark your calendar to join us even if you are not interested in presenting your research/work.

Students, faculty members, service providers in aging, and all others working in gerontology, geriatrics, and older adult programs throughout the state of California are invited to apply. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for the Fall Showcase, please see the “Presenter Information” below. Attendees will be voting on presentation award(s) for the “Best in Show” with an award for the winner!
